The purpose of the Charlotte Backpacker's Meetup is to provide intermediate and advanced level outdoors people with an opportunity to meet and plan experiences with like-minded individuals. Not everyone is eligible. It is an invitation only meet-up.

It's not all about your pace. Heavens knows
the only time I see my friends while on a trip is in camp because we all walk at a different pace but I know they WILL be at camp. Does that mean less experienced backpackers won't cut it...? Not necessarily. A group always needs to be on the look-out for new leaders. And it's not just about backpacking. We have people interested in climbing, mountain and road biking, kayaking, etc..

There is a $5.00/year fee per family to be a
member in order to cover the cost of the site payable via PayPal. You can join and check things out for 30 days before you send money. If at any time during the year you are unhappy with the site, let me know and I'll refund the money, no questions asked.

Admittance is simple; fill out the profile, supply a photo and shortly thereafter you will receive an e-mail with an invitation...and you're in!
