Tips from the Cold Weather Veterans, Please Help!
"WM is known to underrate their bags, I'd venture that my Versalite is good to at least 5 in normal base layers despite it's rating of 10. Regardless, adding clothing can get you another 5-10 degrees if done properly."

"Here's my list from Oct of last year in Montana. We were hit by an early winter blizzard and had a couple feet of snow. Temps hit the low teens. I was plenty toasty at night and slept in my trekking clothes most nights...."

How does Atlanta Wilderness Backpackers spend Christmas?
"Closest we have gotten was probably 50-100 ft away around a ridge. It must've smelled us because it took off steamrolling down the hillside. Black bears are omnivores like we are but mostly eat fruits, nuts, etc...."
