Lou

This is what Lou said: "Smokey's!!! May 16-17. Who wants to go? Lead? We must go low and high, camp near water so Fish Dog can enage. What route?"

I was about to go, but my trip to Russia has moved to May 14-26. Looks like a great group of people getting together for this trip - you guys should totally do it!

Cheers!

Dude! I was the only show!? Elizabeth and Don did not cancel nor call to let me know they weren't coming? I guess since Dmitry was gone the group fell apart??? Anyway, I went and did Talluaha Gorge short Overlook and then Panther Creek falls, about 10 miles. Caught about 10 beautiful Rainbow and Brown trout.

Yes, Chasteen creek is more of a 2.5 day (or rather .5-1-.5) loop. It's a pain to plan trips in the Smokies because of campsites restrictions. :(

Not sure I'm sold on Chasteen Creek loop? Camp site is well short of the half way point... I'm thinking of starting at Clingman's Dome on the AT and going downhill Forney Creek to camp site 70 and then on Sunday head back north on Jonas Creek trail back up to the AT and then east back to the start. Slightly further on day 2 but good motivation heading home on a full stomach of fresh trout and fredom from Dmitry's constant shutter clicks... :-)"""

Ha! The info was just sitting ready for you here: http://www.flickr.com/photo... and if you go to my website http://www.flickr.com/photo... you can find two photo sets from that trail (look up Chasteen). Ironically, I've been there twice and we never made the loop - now it's your chance! It is under 18 miles - I am sure you can do it in 2 days! Please take a lot of pictures and write a trip report! I would really appreciate it! Brer Mtn Rabbit

We're definitely still on even without Dmitry... :-(" But since he bailed on us he should provide a quality 8 mile per day route going high and camping at a beautiful stream, please include on line map and profile... :-) Thanks D! Who's the back up photographer...? Let's still meet near Dmitry's apt at the Star Bucks but push back depart time to 7:30am sharp, be ready to roll! Should be fun, fun! My number is [masked], email [masked]. Bill, what's your number?

Dmitry went to Russia and everyone canceled on me... Elizabeth must have canceled Friday night and I never heard from Don Bayliss or Elizabeth. I sent reminder email on Tuesday or Wednesday... I got in about 10 miles at Talluaha and Panther Creek. Cought a bunch of trout. It only rained a little... Wild flowers and mushrooms are going crazy!
