Here is the part of the area we hiked in on the Sierra Backpack. Picture credit goes to Jeanie. This is from the switchback trail up to New Army Pass (12,500') High lake and Long Lake are about 800' below.

Backpacking is multiple day hiking where you carry all of the gear you will need for your comfort and safety in the pack on your back. This group is focused on arranging wilderness backpacking adventures and the discussion and sharing of backpacking information and resources.
