Introduction
Hi! I got into backpacking in the 90s, when I lived in Seattle with easy access to the Cascade and Olympic Ranges. I've hiked the Presidential Range since coming back East, but haven't climbed since coming to New York. Help! I've got a tent and gear
What's your favorite/least favorite 'critter' in the outdoors?

I love seeing Marmots.

Are you a 4-season backpacker? What's the coldest temperature you've slept outdoor in.

Well. I've definitely had to break the ice off my tent in the morning. I'd guess I'd been out between 10 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit, maybe a little less.

Do you have current Wilderness First Aid training? If not, would you be interested in getting this certification?

No -- I have Red Cross first aid & CPR, so once we get to a defribillator...

Tell us about one of your favorite outdoor adventures.

Wow. I'm no Wallace Stegner. They all seem to come out as "My friends and I climbed up and down some mountains. Occasionally we slept." Maybe I'll try this again later.

What's your favorite snack food on the trail?

Does Pinot Noir count?

  •  Hey Ion, good to meet you yesterday. Mustang Sally's was fun. I dug through my virtual un-read trash and lo and behold, there's an email about your Dilbert movies. Good stuff :) Till next time...
