Ugur, clothing? Make sure it is all synthetic. No cotton at all. You can buy synthetic hiking clothing at any outdoor store like EMS or Paragon. Boots? Sneakers should be fine for a light hike. If you plan on doing more hikes though, hiking boots are required. Hiking boots tend to have a good grip on rock even if its raining and give you ankle support which sneakers won't. NO JEANS!!!! NO COTTON T-SHIRTS!!!

Rio, if you take the train from Hoboken, make sure you take the Port Jervis bound train from Hoboken. This train will stop at Tuxedo. You don't need to switch at all if you're leaving from Hoboken.

Hey guys! This will be my first hike with the group and I'm pretty excited about it. I'm a bit of a newb, but you gotta start somewhere right? :) I'd be taking the train from Hoboken... and from there, where would I go? Hoboken -> Secaucus -> Tuxedo? Is that correct?

Thanks Zach. I found the train schedule online. Can't wait to be back at Harriman. I practically lived in those woods in high school.....many moons ago!

@Lisa Terry: It's a NJTransit train. You can pick it up at Penn Station and transfer to Secaucus, or take the PATH to Hoboken and it's a straight shot from there.
