  This is a good deal at a fantastic location!\n\n    COURSE OVERVIEW/PURPOS
 E:\n    Their is more to paddling a canoe than you think! Have more fun and
  even teach others a thing or two after learning from a professional paddle
 r.\n    We hope to give you a good foundation in the skills and knowledge n
 eeded to paddle a canoe tandem. This course is the first in a progression o
 f paddling a tandem canoe whether the final goal is flat water\, whitewater
  or Freestyle and gives you all of the necessary foundational skills to mov
 e forward in your paddling abilities.\n\n    COURSE OBJECTIVES: Participant
 s will learn topics such as:\n\n    The boat designs\, building materials a
 nd parts of the canoe\n    How launch and land a canoe\n    The biomechanic
 s of paddling a canoe (sitting up straight\, paddling in unison\, paddling 
 with vertical paddles etc.\n    Boat trim and stability\n    How to tow a c
 anoe\n    How to do a canoe over canoe and side by side rescue\n    How to 
 use a rescue sling\n    Signals using the paddle\, whistle and hands (Hando
 ut)\n    How to move the boat sideways when it is sitting still (abeam)\n  
   How to spin the boat while it is sitting still (spin)\n    About the Rule
 s of the Navigable Road\n    About Paddling Ethics\n    About Hypothermia &
  Hyperthermia\n\n    PARTICIPANT QUALIFICATIONS: Must Be able to physically
  perform the above tasks and be in good health. Be able to keep head above 
 water when wearing a properly fitted PFD. No prior canoe or paddling skills
  or courses are required.\n\n    MINIMUM PERSONAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE CLASS: 
 appropriate clothing for weather and immersion. Canoes available for rental
  through the camp for $15 for the package.\n\n    COURSE DURATION: 1 Day (6
 -8 hours)\n\n    LOCATION/VENUE: This class is taught on flat water\, prote
