Hi Everyone,
After receiving very positive feedback from the group, I am happy to announce that I have partnered with the North Conway Climbing School and set up some great climbing, land navigation, and kayaking classes. They have generously given our group and additional 10% off the public group rate. The costs posted are the total cost for the entire two-day weekend. See below for course description and details. Course Description:

Kayak—Strokes and Rescues 8:30a – 4p. No experience required. Learn about basic paddling strokes, boat components, and how to exit safely if you should flip!

Basic Land Navigation 8:30a – 4:00p (see below for detailed description)—Hands on training with a map and compass! Learn the basics all the way through white-out navigation. (No link for this one yet)

Lodging:

We will be staying at our local hostel for $21 per night. You will need to contact them as well directly to book your spot. They have a full kitchen to use if you would like to cook your own food. I would highly suggest arriving Friday night and leaving Sunday night. This will give you time to rest before the class on Saturday. Please contact them directly at [masked]. Transportation:

I will access this, as we get closer to the dates. Usually I will pair up people that need a ride with people that have a car. If you have a car and can drive please let me know ASAP so I can pair people up in your car for a ride. If by chance we run out of spaces in cars I will ask for the remainder to rent a car and share the costs. I will help with getting a cheap rental car if needed.

Detailed Description:

Land Navigation 101

This course is designed for the individual who has little to no experience with a map and compass. This information packed in a 1 day course introduces you to basic navigation with and without a map and compass. Both map and compass are recommended items to have in your pack, but what about the knowledge to use them? The art of navigating with a map & compass has become more obsolete with people over relying on technology. Don’t become a victim of a broken GPS or dead batteries! Half the day is spent in classroom, and half outside rain or shine. Emphasis is placed on hands on learning and your comprehension will be tested. No prior experience is needed and participants can be in any physical condition. This program runs on scheduled dates at a group rate, but we can also offer it privately and remotely. Contact us if you would like us to bring this to your home-town or school.
