We're a club of outdoor enthusiasts who come together for day hikes, weekend backpacking trips, and longer excursions that include rock climbing, kayaking, orienteering, survival training, and other exciting adventures!
Our two Adventure Recreational Clubs The New York Backpackers Club along with our sister club The New York Adventurers (outdoor and indoor recreation) http://adventurers.meetup.com/31/ are one of the largest Adventure Recreational clubs in New York with a significant percentage of members interested primarily in 4 season recreational adventure. Our Adventure recreational clubs; welcome, train, and support anyone interested in the Great Outdoors, even those who have never put a foot in the forest.
Our Club provides scheduled recreational adventures twelve months a year. Participants include adult men and women of all ages and physical condition. The club also has programs for kids.

We will climb 3 peaks on this trip up in the Adirondacks. Hopefully we will have some good weather and climb all 3 in one day.
We are leaving NYC to the Adirondacks on Friday March 5th, 2010 and coming back Sunday, March 7th.
The mountains we will climb are all on the Winter 46ers list, these are:
Seward Mountain
Donaldson Mountain
Mt Emmons

You could check out "The Next Adventure" (meetup) or the Appalachian Mountain Club (google them) too...although like I mentioned, the AMC tends to be a bit older crowd. Anywho.
